Contractors/Material Providers: Keep in mind that Florida Statutes requires strict compliance with the timelines for sending Notices to Owners, recording liens, and filing lawsuits.
If you were not hired by the property owner, you must send a Notice to Owner to the owner of the property within 45 days of your first day on the job or supplying materials.
Whether or not you were hired by the owner or another contractor, you must record your Lien within 90 days of your last day on the job.
If you receive a Notice of Contest of Lien or a Summons, you should call Attorney Joe Taormina to discuss the time requirements and your options.

Homeowners have several options to dispute a lien or a demand for payment and should call Attorney Joe Taormina to discuss the details of their situation. The phone consultation is free, you will speak directly to the attorney, and only takes a few minutes.
